The firm's lawyers have
served as counsel for appellate rules to the Rules Advisory Committee of the Ohio Supreme Court; as chair of the Banking, Commercial and Bankruptcy Law Committee of the Ohio State Bar Association; on the Committee for Admission to the Bar of the U. S. District Court, Southern District of Ohio; and as court-appointed mediator in local federal and state courts.

The firm's lawyers have written or contributed to such works as Deal and Sykes, Baldwin's Ohio Practice, Commercial Code, vol. 3, (1996); and Benedict and Winkler, The History of Ohio Law (2004).  Their articles have appeared in such publications as the ABA Business Lawyer, the Capital University Law Review, the Journal of Legal History, the Journal of Law and Commerce, the Probate Law Journal, and the University of Toledo Law Review.
